School: from 9/1 enrollments for the new year, 1 out of 4 still undecided

From 9 to 30 January it will be possible to register for the 2023/2024 school year. Also this year the procedures will take place online for all the first classes of primary and secondary state schools of first and second grade. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, 05 JAN - From 9 to 30 January it will be possible to enroll for the 2023/2024 school year.


   Also this year the procedures will take place online for all the first classes of primary and secondary state schools of first and second grade.

Online enrollments also concern educational and professional training hyper-courses provided under the subsidiarity regime by professional institutes and professional training centers accredited by the Regions and private schools which, on a voluntary basis, have adhered to the online procedure.

The application remains on paper for kindergarten.


    To go or not to go to high school?

This is the dilemma that grips 1 out of 4 students among those who, having finished middle school in June, will have to choose what to do.

The School Orientation Observatory of the Skuola.net portal, built by interviewing 1,800 eighth grade students, sees only 50% of the interviewees having "armored" the decision well in advance, while a further 25% lifted the reservation on the study address but did not on which institution to aim for a diploma One in 5 respondents complain that the guidance activities organized by their institution have been almost non-existent.

Relatively more fortunate a further 50% for whom the orientation took place but last minute, i.e. only starting from last September.

In the end, only 3 out of 10 addressed the issue in time,


   Furthermore, only 40% found the proposed orientation really useful for clarifying their ideas, while the remaining part rejected it partially (44%) or totally (16%).

Something similar happened with the so-called "orienting advice", which all schools are required to provide to pupils: only 1 out of 3 says they have taken it as a starting point for understanding where to enrol, while less than half (43%) judged it unusable while the 22% who have not received it at all.


    More than 3 out of 4 interviewees know that the type of high school diploma they are going to obtain will greatly condition their professional outlets.

Crucial, therefore, not to make mistakes and not to leave out any detail.

For this reason, about a quarter (24%), in choosing the course, looked above all at the quantity of employment or training opportunities that could open up after graduation.


   Even if, then, the priority - transversal to all the latest generations - remains that of bringing together studies and personal inclinations: for 1 out of 3 this will be the fundamental aspect in leading towards a specific school path.

But there is also a substantial representation of those who ask the high school to better prepare for university or to pave the way towards as many different degree courses: almost 3 out of 10 think so. Just 1 out of 10, however, imagines turning towards the world of I work with only my diploma in my pocket.

On the contrary, always remaining on this theme, over 8 out of 10 continue to believe that the university is almost an obligatory step to have a successful future.
