The tennis department of BCF Wolfratshausen mourns the loss of one of its co-founders: Lipot Kindtner died at the age of 83.

Wolfratshausen – There was probably no Schafkopf round at the tennis facility in Farchet where Lipot Kindtner was not at the table.

And there was almost as rarely a round in which he didn't win his solos.

For decades, the Wolfratshausener helped shape the tennis department of the BCF Wolfratshausen.

A few weeks ago, the department's longstanding honorary chairman passed away at the age of 83.

Passionate athlete and official: Lipot Kindtner has passed away

"As a founding member, Lipot actively shaped the development of the department for decades and drove it forward with great passion," recalls the current department head, Kathrin Mockenhaupt.

Kindtner was head of the tennis division at the Farcheter Ballclub for over 20 years.

"It is largely thanks to his tireless commitment and great personal commitment that the tennis facility and the club have developed into a real gem," says Mockenhaupt.

In the 1980s, under his leadership, the association developed a plan for the clubhouse and a clubhouse on the site.

The young department flourished under Kindtner.

When he resigned from his post as head of department in 2000, the club already had seven tennis teams playing league games.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Lipot Kindtner was honored in 2013

The city of Wolfratshausen honored Kindtner in 2013 as part of the athletes' gala.

He received the award for his "Sporting Lifetime Achievement" - and was praised as the "jack of all trades" in the BCF department.

The passionate functionary was distinguished by his “extremely level-headed leadership” and his balancing nature.

"Lipot leaves a big mark," says Mockenhaupt, "we will miss him very much."

In recent years, his health has prevented him from picking up a tennis racket.

The honorary chairman was always present, however, and many long-time companions were happy about his frequent visits to the site on Kräuterstraße.

Kindtner was happy to come as a spectator or for the Schafkopf rounds - and for the solos, which he won in rows.
