A fire broke out in Tai Wai.
At about 5 o'clock in the morning, it was reported that a unit in Mei Huai Building was on fire with smoke. The Fire Services Department received multiple fire reports and suspected that someone was trapped in the unit.
A number of firefighters and ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene.
The firefighters assisted several residents to leave the fire scene to a safe location. Two of them suffered serious burns, and another was suspected of inhaling smoke.
The three injured were handed over to ambulancemen and then sent to hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters are at the scene and the cause of the fire will be investigated later.
