The head of the bar association harshly criticized the reform of the law, but was left alone in the battle - voila! news

The members of the national council criticized the head of the bureau and planned to meet without him, but in the end the initiative was thwarted. From internal WhatsApp messages of the heads of the districts in the bar, it appears that they are mainly disturbed by the bar becoming voluntary, and by the removal of the lawyers from the committee for selecting judges

The overcoming clause and the change of the committee for the selection of judges: Levin's reform of the judicial system (Walla system!)

Last night (Wednesday), the head of the attorney's office, Avi Himi, responded with harsh words to the reform presented by the Minister of Justice, Yariv Levin. judges of the Supreme Court and harm their independence to decide according to their best judgment. This is apparently a lesson that the Minister of Justice learned from Erdogan, and it is a shame. We will not allow damage to the independence of the court, we will not allow the politicization of the court, and we will not allow the tyranny of the government. We will do everything in our power to prevent lightning strikes Invalids and donkeys that threaten the image of the country, including going to the streets (before it is prohibited by law)."

But it seems that Hami is left alone in the campaign, and that two main things worry the senior members of the bureau, and what used to be Hami's coalition.

One is to make the Bar Association voluntary - a plan that Levin has spoken about in the past. The second: removing representatives of the Bar Association from the committee for the selection of judges, a plan that Levin presented tonight and which was the main strength of the bar vis-a-vis the politicians and Supreme Court judges.

Internal WhatsApp messages that came into my hands and voila!

On the part of the members of the national council, which is the executive committee of the attorney's office, they testify that the members of the council planned to meet tomorrow without Himi's presence, something that was thwarted at the last minute.

The person who reacted sharply to Hami's words was attorney Asher Axelred, chairman of the Jerusalem district of the bureau and who was photographed next to Itamar Ben Gabir during part of the coalition negotiations. Esclared wrote clearly about Levin's plan to make the bureau voluntary: "In the period about "As sensitive as government plans are made to eliminate the existence of the bureau, it is expected from the one who heads it to express his positions (which, as mentioned, I am a member of) wisely, carefully and with due responsibility, out of concern for the safety and integrity of the organization he heads. I am afraid that is not how we will do it."

The one who came to Himi's defense was the chairman of the central district of the bureau, attorney Romi Kanvel, who attacked the other members, and even hinted that they support the return of Efi Neve to the presidency of the bureau.

This is how Knavel wrote to the chairman of the Jerusalem district: "Asher, I understand that instead of currently dealing with the union, the members of the council are dealing with politics, and with calling on the head of the bureau to resign.

It is very sad when in the same breath the head of a bar recorded by judges and lawyers is supported.

So we'll agree that you don't think that the head of the bureau in your eyes is worthy of being the head, and I'll think that the head of the bureau you want is not worthy in my opinion."

Asher Axelard told Walla: "I did not express any support for Efi Neve, or any other candidate.

Really really not.

Anyone who tells you (or says) a contradictory statement is a liar, and I suggest you avoid writing a lie.

Everything is written in the texts of the WhatsApp group, and it's a shame that they make the actual discussion into an election campaign.

demand it.

Beyond that, I did express my regret that the writing was on the wall for a long time, and the bar association did not lift a finger to prevent this evil."

The chairman of the Haifa district of the bar, Adv. Tami Ullman, also wrote: "In my opinion, we should meet and talk.

The situation is completely unstable.

The paralysis of the bureau is a cry for generations." Later on in the announcements, the heads of the districts agreed to meet tomorrow without Himi, but as of this writing the meeting has been thwarted, and next week the heads of the districts will meet with Himi.

In response to the statements, Attorney Tami Ullman said: "The members of the National Council have all decided to meet with Avi Hami this coming Tuesday."

Attorney Rumi Kanval said: "The correspondence was in the coalition group, of which the head of the bureau is a member. This is not a criticism of the head of the bureau, of course Not in a situation where the most important issues on the agenda is the future of the Chamber, the issue around which all council members are united."

The bar association stated: "We welcome the exchange of views among the members of the council. The head of the bar will continue to defend the rule of law and Israeli democracy."
