The Palestinian Authority called for a fortification in the al-Aqsa Mosque • Iran threatens: "The response to Aliya will be painful" • The Cabinet discusses a possible response to the Palestinian move to the UN Security Council meeting

The tensions on the Temple Mount: The

Palestinian Authority yesterday called for fortifications in the mosques on the Temple Mount during the prayers that will be held today.

At the same time, Iran threatened that "the response to Ben Gabir's ascension to al-Aqsa will be painful."

The Ministry of Waqf and Religions of the Palestinian Authority called in a special announcement to "revive the great dawn".

The meaning is a call to fortify the mosques and to hold a huge prayer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque located on the Temple Mount.

"On Thursday morning, dozens of extremist settlers stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and held Talmudic ceremonies in Al-Aqsa Square and on the eastern side under heavy security of the occupation police. The occupation forces continue to restrict the entry of worshippers," the statement said.

The Waqf Ministry even referred to the publication in "Israel Hayom" and noted that "the Hebrew newspaper 'Israel Hayom' stated that the Israeli security will study the claims submitted by the groups to Minister Ben Gabir, with the aim of opening the gates of al-Aqsa completely to the invasions, on all days, including holidays and Saturdays." .

In the meantime, the UN Security Council convened last night to discuss the ascent of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gabir to the Temple Mount on Tuesday. The discussion was initiated by the Palestinians and was brought forward at their request by the United Arab Emirates.

In a speech delivered afterwards, Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, emphasized that this was a waste of time. "Jews are allowed to visit the Temple Mount!

For every Jew!

The very fact that this discussion was held is an insult to the intelligentsia," the ambassador clarified.

"The UN is irrelevant"

Before the discussion, it was estimated that no decisions were expected to be made.

Political officials have expressed confidence that in any case the US will protect Israel if a conflict develops. An Israeli official told "Israel Hayom" that holding the discussion more than 48 hours after Ben Gabir's ascent to the mountain indicates the irrelevance of the UN.

Officials in the political system rejected the claims of damage to Israel's political standing following the incident.

A political source told "Israel Today" that "the Americans did not condemn Israel and neither did the European countries. There was expected criticism from Arab countries and one rebuke to Israel's ambassador to Jordan. We should not get carried away with the meaning of these things."

Following this, the political-security cabinet discussed possible countermeasures towards the Palestinian Authority.

The discussion took place following the publication in "Israel Hayom" that officials in the government demand an Israeli response.

It is estimated that the response measures will be published in the next day.

One of the options being considered is denying VIP certificates to Palestinian officials and/or restricting their freedom of movement.
