Assault on the Capitol: two years later, is there still a risk of civil war in the United States?

Two years after the staggering images of the invasion of the Capitol, seat of Congress (Parliament) in Washington, by Trumpist rioters on January 6, 2021, does the specter of an American civil war still lurk?

Since entering the White House, Joe Biden has been unable or unable to keep his promises to appease a fractured country.

"The United States is coming to an end", darkly prophesies at the opening of his book "USA: the next civil war", the Canadian essayist Stephen Marche, who writes for many American newspapers (New York Times, Wall Street Journal... ).
