In May 2022, a child's body was recovered from the Danube in Bavaria.

The identity of the boy is unclear, but the police are still looking - now throughout Germany.

Ingolstadt - In May, a canoeist found a child's corpse in the Danube near Ingolstadt.

The case is still a mystery more than half a year later.

Because the identity of the child could not be clarified so far.

On behalf of the Ingolstadt public prosecutor's office, the child's face was reconstructed by forensic pathologists.

"Scientific findings allow well-founded conclusions to be drawn, based on the individual head shape, about the actual appearance during one's lifetime," said the November press release. 

The police are looking for information about the dead boy - now on information screens at train stations.

Child's corpse found in the Danube - description of the boy

The investigators also provided a description at the time:

  • between 3 and 7 years old

  • 110cm tall

  • about 15 kg heavy

  • blue eyes

  • dark blonde to brown hair

Unsolved case from Bavaria at "Aktenzeichen XY" - BKA helps

In December, the case was then shown on the ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY...unsolved", and there were numerous indications afterwards.

Now the officials are also receiving support from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).

From Thursday, January 5th, digital information screens (such as at train stations) are to be used throughout Germany for the case.

In addition, the media of the BKA are used to draw attention to the case again.

This includes the website and social media of the authority.
