The new rules had been inaugurated with great fanfare.
On January 2, the Minister for Ecological Transition and Regional Planning Christophe Béchu and his colleague Bérangère Couillard, Secretary of State for Ecology, went to a McDonald's in Le Mans (Sarthe).
Objective: to promote the discontinuation of the use of disposable tableware in certain fast food chains - only those with at least 20 seats.
Drinks and food consumed on site must, since January 1, be served in appropriate cups, plates and containers.
By going to this fast food restaurant where plastic jars have been offered to customers since October, Christophe Béchu wanted to encourage late chains to jump on the bandwagon.
