Some neighbors recalled the escape process, saying that they were awakened by thick smoke in their sleep, and when they walked down the stairs to escape the fire, they saw the female head of the household who was wounded and fell down the stairs wearing a blanket.
Mr. Wu, who lives on the 29th floor of Meihuai Building, said that his wife was woken up by the smoke first. He felt strange and woke him up. He opened the window to check, and there was thick smoke entering: "All the houses are smoked, and my nose is tanned. , so he put on his shirt and walked away." He and his wife walked down the stairs when they heard a man screaming for help, and saw firefighters on the third floor.
Mr. Wu said: "I saw a woman on the second or third floor, holding a felt." He later recognized the female head of the unit where the fire broke out. Her hands were burned.
