The United States today (Friday) demanded that Israel investigate the incident of desecration of gravestones in the Christian cemetery on Mount Zion, and called on it to "take responsibility" for what is happening in the capital.
The American Embassy in Israel this morning republished on its Twitter account the message of the "American Office of Palestinian Affairs" from yesterday, following the video in which Jews are seen breaking tombstones in the cemetery.
"We are concerned to see that the holy site of Mount Zion has once again become a target.
We talked with the churches and we congratulate Israel, the Palestinian Authority for their calls to take responsibility.
Vandalizing religious sites is not acceptable.
Jerusalem must be a city for all its residents.'
Yesterday, the police spokeswoman announced that a large number of tombstones were vandalized in the Protestant cemetery near Mount Zion in Jerusalem.
This morning the security camera footage was released.

The announcement comes after a video clip was published this week in which two men with a Jewish appearance are seen smashing tombstones in the Protestant Christian cemetery on Mount Zion, adjacent to the Old City of Jerusalem.
In a police statement published after the incident, it was stated that forces arrived at the scene and began investigating the case.
The damage to the sanctuaries of the Protestant stream in Jerusalem puts Israel in a particularly unpleasant place vis-à-vis the United States, most of whose citizens belong to various factions of this stream, including many Israel-loving Christians.
