Federal Research Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger believes that Germany is too closed to new technologies.
The risks are always seen rather than the opportunities, said the FDP politician on Friday at the traditional Epiphany rally of the liberals in Stuttgart.
She cited nuclear fusion and feeding the world's population as examples.
Stuttgart - New breeding technologies could increase the resilience of the plants, but a large part of the research takes place in the USA and China.
"We like fear scenarios," criticized Stark-Watzinger.
