Good news for three schools in the district: youth social work is being expanded.

Erding

– Youth social welfare in schools is very important in the district.

Pupils who are particularly dependent on support experience help with social integration as well as school and professional training.

"Disabled or disadvantaged young people must be supported at an early stage in order to have the best chance of social participation and an independent life," said District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer in a press release, emphasizing the need for youth social work.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)

To further ensure educational support, new youth social welfare positions will be created for the elementary school and the secondary school in Taufkirchen as well as the Herzog-Tassilo secondary school in Erding, each with a volume of 19.50 hours per week.

The needs had previously been determined by the Youth Welfare Committee.

“This is another step towards educational equity for the students affected.

After all, the future prospects of young people shouldn't depend on their parents' home or other difficulties in starting life," says Bayerstorfer.

The district will continue to expand youth welfare.

For 2023, the committee decided on a youth welfare budget of almost 23.5 million euros, which means an increase of 13.26 percent compared to the previous year.

School-accompanying measures would be increased by 200,000 euros.
