No Florian Silbereisen?
ARD cult actor should become a dream ship captain

Florian Silbereisen has been playing the "Das Traumschiff" captain since 2019.
But before the hit star was hired, someone else had in mind: cult actor Jan Fedder (†) was originally supposed to take on the role.
Mainz – "Das Traumschiff" has been delighting ZDF viewers since 1981, but a lot of what happens outside of the wanderlust TV pictures remains hidden from them.
Florian Silbereisen (41), who has been in charge of the MS Amadea as Captain Max Parger since 2019, might never have gotten this role under other circumstances.

"Das Traumschiff" had already been running for 38 years when Florian Silbereisen went on board for the first time as Captain Max Parger at the end of January 2019.
The ZDF series itself, conceived by Wolfgang Rademann († 81), started in 1981, the year in which the hit star was born.
It is clear that the 41-year-old folk musician already had a number of predecessors, including Siegfried Rauch († 85), who steered the fortunes of the TV cruise ship from 1999 to 2013.
The cult actor Jan Fedder, who died in 2019, should have succeeded as captain on "Das Traumschiff", but declined, as can be read in his biography.

But "Das Traumschiff" did not always get the cast he wanted:
the ARD cult star Jan Fedder († 64), who died in 2019, was offered the role of captain, as it says in his "Immortal" biography.
But the series and film actor, known from the “Großstadtrevier”, turned it down – although, as a native of Hamburg, he actually had seafaring in his blood.

Jan Fedder rejected the "Traumschiff" offer - the series brought Sascha Hehn and Florian Silbereisen
"Das Traumschiff" creator Wolfgang Rademann offered Jan Fedder the successor to Siegfried Rauch, but the North German cult actor declined.
His biography says:
"I had a free ticket on board.
I was allowed to do everything there, had my bar to myself and my regular seat.
It couldn't have been better... And yet I said to Radi: 'I can't do it anymore.
I can't play that anymore.'
Because I had raised the bar with the Lenz stories.
I was a character now.”

Fedder, who at the time was working in a film adaptation of the novel by the writer Siegfried Lenz († 88), wanted to devote himself to serious roles.
Sascha Hehn (68), who is known to have been followed by Florian Silbereisen, then took on the role of captain.
While the folk musician has great ratings with "Das Traumschiff", things are not going so well with his entertainment programs: Florian Silbereisen hardly attracted any viewers to the television with "Schlager des Jahres".
