Olching/Gröbenzell – Information about a possible blackout is constantly circulating in the media and society.
The quality of the electricity supply is high in Germany.
There have not been any large-scale, long-lasting power outages, if they did, they would be felt in all areas of life.
In order to prepare for the scenario of such a prolonged power blackout in Olching, the city administration set up the energy crisis team in summer 2022, which deals with the issue of blackout precautions in close cooperation with the district office and the security authorities.
Olching sets up lighthouses
Should there be a prolonged power failure in Olching, five fixed "lighthouses" will be set up: the Olching town hall and the four volunteer fire brigades.
There, emergency operation can be ensured during the blackout phase by providing emergency power generators.
In addition, four mobile lighthouses in the form of fire engines will be set up at various locations in the city: at the small roundabout in Neu-Esting, in Geiselbullach at the Maibaum, at the Amperschule in Schwaigfeld and at Nöscherplatz.
Contact persons are available around the clock for emergencies at all lighthouses, and they can also contact the integrated control center in Fürstenfeldbruck via analog radio.

City advises citizens to prepare
In the event of a blackout, citizens receive important information via posters on information boards in the city area and via loudspeaker announcements by the fire brigades.
In the event of a blackout, Bayerischer Rundfunk broadcasts an information program for at least seven days.
In an emergency, children are taken care of in schools or day-care facilities on the day of the power blackout, and they have to be taken care of at home on the following days.
It is advisable to stock up on food and drink at home in order to bridge the time until government aid starts or the situation is under control again.
Further information is also available in the BRK brochure "Advice on emergency preparedness and correct action in emergency situations", which is available online and in the Olching town hall.
Gröbenzell is also making preparations
The municipality of Gröbenzell is also taking precautions in the event of a prolonged power outage, which experts say is currently unlikely.
In October, Mayor Martin Schäfer convened the "Energy Supply" crisis management team, which has met regularly since then to take precautions with local security authorities and in consultation with the energy suppliers.
Not only the town hall, but each individual is in demand, explains Schäfer.
This is the only way to keep calm in an emergency and to manage the situation in the best possible way.
In addition to providing emergency equipment, it is advisable to make clear arrangements within the family, such as how children can get home safely or how relatives can be looked after.
Agreements within a shared flat are also useful.
In the event of a blackout, the town hall in Gröbenzell is the central contact point for health and technical emergencies and for any missing persons.
An information point is also planned, as well as a "helper exchange" where citizens can support each other with help services according to the "search/find" principle.
"Keep calm, solidarity and consideration, mutual help - these are the key words in the event of a crisis," appealed Schäfer.
