First time to comments

France Télévisions made no mistake about it by offering the former third line to join its team of rugby consultants.

A proposal that the former champion accepted.

After having officiated on RMC and RMC Sport in the analysis programs and on TF1 for the 2019 World Cup in "Le Mag", the native of Kinshasa will take his first steps in the comments on the public service.

He will, in fact, bring to life the matches outside the XV of France in the Six Nations Tournament which will take place from February 4 to March 18 and is delighted about it.

“Live commentating is going to be a big first for me and I'm excited to do it.

I will be a bit like a translator for the general public of a gesture or a strategy.

I will prepare myself beforehand and work on my intonation”

A multi-hatted man

Yannick Nyanga, who succeeds Benjamin Kayser, will officiate alongside Jean Abeilhou.

He will perform his baptism of fire on February 4 at Twickenham during the second meeting of the competition (the first between Wales and Ireland) which will pit England and Scotland against each other.

Before embarking on this new challenge, he can seek advice from Vincent Clerc, his former teammate in Toulouse and in the France team, and Dimitri Yachvili with whom he played in the XV of France, who are both also part of of the France Télévisions rugby team.

Since his retirement from sport, Yannick Nyanga has been sporting director of Racing 92. He now holds the position of coach and manager of the club's Espoirs team.
