The head of the Tartous City Council, Judge Muhammad Khaled Zain, stated that many civil initiatives have been implemented to illuminate most of the streets and main parks of Tartous with alternative energy, and to start installing two thousand photoelectric lighting devices provided by a businessman in the vicinity of Al-Basil Park, Al-Thawra Streets, the Marine Corniche, the Eastern Corniche, and Tariq bin Ziyad. and Tishreen Garden.

Al-Zein pointed out in a statement to SANA reporter to the initiative to feed the street lighting devices in the Municipal Stadium neighborhood, Al-Baraniah neighborhood, and Al-Mina Street from private generators belonging to a donor from the businessmen, in addition to some citizens in the Al-Raml neighborhood and Al-Tala’i Street lighting in front of the houses and in the streets located within the neighborhood and educating citizens Those who have photovoltaic panels to install lighting in front of the divisions that they occupy, and all of this is done under the control, receipt and supervision of technicians in the city council.

Al-Zein indicated that communication is taking place with the local community through neighborhood committees, with businessmen and economic actors, with unions and organizations, to support and assist in providing cash or in-kind donations in line with the objectives of the Local Administration Law, stressing the continuous endeavor to provide services in the streets of the city.

Al-Zein pointed out that the response by the civil society was good through the receipt of many donations to the city, which were duly accepted and distributed according to cash sums totaling 150 million Syrian pounds, through which many sporadic service works were carried out in the city.
