The mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo (PS) seized the General Inspectorate to initiate an administrative investigation concerning a company of pounds which worked with the city, according to a press release published Friday by the City.
A judicial investigation had been opened in October 2022, we are told.
Its manager, Chafic Alywan, nicknamed "
the king of pounds
", would be the main implicated in this affair, a source familiar with the matter told

Of Lebanese origin, he had been arrested in possession of several hundred thousand euros, the daily said.
Sealed vehicles returned to their owners
The pound company “Interdépannage”, which is responsible for the southern zone of Paris, its manager Chafic Alywan as well as several police officers are suspected of having been involved in acts of corruption.

This same source told us that a former civil servant of the prefecture was also indicted for "passive corruption" and "concealment of goods resulting from an abuse of social goods".
He was placed under judicial supervision.
Regarding the police, some of them are suspected of having had their personal vehicle serviced for free in one of Chafic Alywann's garages, reports

Interdépannage crane operators are also suspected of having allowed poorly parked drivers – who arrived in time before their vehicle was removed – to immediately recover their car, for a sum to be paid in cash, indicates the regional daily.

, certain vehicles belonging to drug traffickers were sometimes released without any justification, even though they were under seal or impounded.

In a press release, the city of Paris indicated that it had read this information through the press on Wednesday January 4 and assured that it will be a civil party in the context of the ongoing judicial investigation.
