Nothing predestined her for journalism.
And yet, the 59-year-old host has had, and still has, great success on television.

Having grown up in Bordeaux, Sophie Davant imagined having a career in the import/export of wine.
“Except that I didn't have a family established in this area at all.
After one or two internships, I wondered what I was doing there
,” she confides.
It was then that her boyfriend at the time, a sports journalist, convinced her to try the competitions for the special year at the Bordeaux journalism school.
"Maybe that's why I'm still here..."
"Nothing has ever fallen from the sky
," admits the host.
Indeed, she arrived on antenna 2 in 1987 but held the position of weather presenter.
She then went on to various programs.
“It took me years of experience before I had shows that I really liked
,” she admits before adding:
“And then I suffered a bit from the plaster as a woman anyway .
At the time, there were not many women on the air.
And for five years, she has been at the helm of the program dedicated to flea market enthusiasts "Affaire concluded" broadcast every day on France 2. Well established in the industry since then, in 2020 she also launched her magazine called
S, the magazine of Sophie Davant
.
However, according to her, nothing is ever certain.
“I always felt like I was spending my time proving, maybe that's why I'm still here.
The fact of doubting, of always being ready to evolve, to question myself.
I have no certainty.”
