A police officer's physical capacity may have avoided a new tragedy.
Thursday, during a walk on a coastal path linking the beaches of Porcé and Bonne-Anse to Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), the off-duty official identified an individual whose face seemed to match that of the portrait- robot of a wanted man.
The charges against the latter: the rape of a 13-year-old girl committed in the late morning of December 20 on a beach near this same coastal path.

Decision is made to arrest the individual in question.
A kitchen knife is found in his clothing.
Everything except one detail: during her attack, the abused young girl had described to the police having been caught by an individual with a knife who had forced her to go to the nearby beach while forcing her turn off his cell phone.
In the process, he had imposed oral sex on her and then tried to have sex with her.
The latter had not succeeded and the teenager had managed to flee.
She was then hitchhiked by a motorist who was able to take her home.
To the investigators in charge of the case, the young girl had given a very precise description of her attacker.
Custody
After his arrest, the suspected man was taken into custody.
During this one, he ended up recognizing
“the essence of the facts denounced”
, specifies Renaud Gaudeul, the public prosecutor of Nantes.
This Saturday, he was presented to an investigating magistrate from the instruction center in Nantes and was indicted on the charge of
“rape of a 15-year-old minor, with a weapon”
, indicates Renaud Gaudeul.
He was also remanded in custody.

What do we know about this individual?
According to the prosecutor, he is a 30-year-old man living in Saint-Nazaire.
He works there as a maintenance worker.
Apart from a criminal composition, in 2018, for acts of driving without a driver's license and without insurance, he was unknown to the justice services.
