The task force of the Enforcement and Control Team of the Kowloon East Regional Traffic Department launched an operation to combat dangerous driving, speeding, drink driving and drug driving yesterday (January 7) around 11 o'clock in the evening.
During the operation, officers found a private car suspected of speeding and dangerous driving at the Kwun Tong detour towards Lam Tin, and immediately started to chase it, and finally stopped it at Cha Kwo Ling Road near Ko Chiu Road.
After investigation, officers arrested the 34-year-old male driver surnamed Zheng on suspicion of "speeding" and "dangerous driving".
He has been released on bail pending further inquiries and must report to police in mid-February.
In addition, the police also stopped a private car on Wang Chiu Road in Kowloon Bay. The 36-year-old male driver surnamed Deng failed the alcohol breath test and was arrested for "drink driving".

The police appeal to all motorists that driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, speeding and dangerous driving are serious crimes. Once convicted, they may be sentenced to imprisonment and suspension of license.
