It is still written in the stars when the Handwerkerhof in Unterhaching will become a reality.

Anyway, now is.

He will definitely not get to a certain location.

Unterhaching

– Three become two: the municipality of Unterhaching is using salami tactics to approach a craftsman’s farm that has been in the pipeline for many years.

What is certain is that the former tennis courts of TC Unterhaching, which had been unused for years after a dispute with the property owner, are out of the running (we reported).

The reason is a lack of willingness to cooperate on the part of the owners, and the land use plan (previously purely a sports facility) would have to be changed.

This leaves two locations that are now to be checked for their suitability: the parking lot on Grünwalder Weg, some of which has been misused as a rubbish dump, and the area north of Ottobrunner Straße, directly on the A8.

TCU area discarded

"It's about prioritizing possible locations," said the head of construction management, Stefan Lauszat, in the municipal council, describing the initial situation. The former TCU area was unanimously rejected - reservations remain about the other locations.

The Free Voters had brought the area on Grünwalder Weg into play, the parliamentary group leader Alfons Hofstetter warned: "Hurry is required to prevent local craftsmen from moving away.

Here an investor would implement the project quickly, we shouldn't put any obstacles in his way." CSU parliamentary group leader Korbinian Rausch agreed: "We need a commercial turbo - speed is crucial."

Fresh air corridor could be affected

The Greens, meanwhile, favor the area to the north of Ottobrunner Strasse, the development of which, however, could affect the fresh air corridor - just an otherwise green topic.

"We shouldn't break anything over our knees," warned the Greens municipal council to proceed cautiously instead of rushing.

What he dislikes about the FWU idea on Grünwalder Weg is that "an additional commercial area is suddenly to be pushed through in a fast-track procedure".

In fact, one planning variant goes far beyond the garbage dump car park, parallel to the existing commercial area, and an extension to the roundabout at Grimmerweg is to be built to the north.

"That would be," says Konetschny, "a completely new dimension."

One location will be awarded the contract

Mayor Wolfgang Panzer (SPD) noted that "at the end of the day, a craft farm is also a trade".

The pros and cons of the two remaining locations should now be checked as quickly as possible.

First three, now two - and at some point, probably in 2023, a location will be awarded the contract.
