Itay Blitz, a 14-year-old boy from Hod Hasharon who died unexpectedly at the beginning of the week, donated his organs and thereby saved the lives of five sick citizens.
Blitz arrived at Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba in critical condition during CPR and from there he was transferred to a pediatric intensive care unit.
The doctors fought for his life, but in the end he was declared brain dead.
His family asked to donate his organs, including his eyesight, heart and kidneys.
The hospital's announcement states that Blitz's heart was transplanted into a 15-year-old girl, his two lungs were transplanted into a 25-year-old man, the donated liver was transplanted into a 56-year-old man, one of his kidneys was transplanted into a 12-year-old girl, and the other kidney into an 18-year-old man
