Indoor pool and through town: That's the schedule

At the citizens' meeting, the head of the town hall, Alexander Greulich, gave updates on important street renovations and the indoor pool.

Ismaning - "The next five hours belong to me." The threat from Mayor Alexander Greulich (SPD) was provided with a grin - but he kept his word.

But that's sort of a tradition in Ismaning: a record citizens' meeting on Epiphany.

The head of the town hall spoke for hours in front of several hundred Ismaningers.

During his tour of the municipal area in words and pictures, he also had a number of new pieces of information, which he used to answer some of the around 40 inquiries from citizens in the lecture.

Such a question concerned the B 471 with the new construction of the Isar bridge.

Things have been quiet about the measure in recent years, but now things seem to be getting serious again.

Greulich explained that, according to the state building authority, the construction of the Isar bridge should begin in 2024.

Basically, he presented a municipality in the citizens' hall that had come through the almost three-year Corona period well.

With 67 million euros, the trade tax in 2022 was a good result, and the level of reserves at the turn of the year with 21.6 million euros is quite positive.

The head of the town hall also dealt aggressively with unpleasant issues, and the indoor swimming pool is the number one priority in Ismaning.

"It's not a picture from Ukraine, it's our indoor pool," Greulich quipped over a photo of the permanent construction site last year.

After construction defects, there were only phases in which the companies started repair attempts rather badly than right.

The problems now seem to have been resolved and the bathroom has been tiled again.

According to Greulich, the reopening of the pool is still planned for February.

Traffic light becomes a roundabout

The renovation of the through road in Ismaning is now becoming a little more concrete.

With a start of construction in 2024/25, a first construction phase is to be realized, which should extend from the police station to the traffic light crossing at the REWE supermarket.

In the meantime, everyone involved has agreed that converting the traffic light intersection with Erich-Zeitler-Strasse and Osterfeldstrasse into a roundabout is the best solution.

"We want to achieve improvements for all road users," said Greulich.

“It's not just about cars and trucks.

By reducing lanes, we can implement improvements for pedestrians and cyclists.”

That fits into the image of the municipality of Ismaning, which has already paid out more than 700,000 euros in subsidies for the purchase of bicycles in 2,318 citizen applications.

The Mayor was pleased to note that the use of bicycles for short inner-city journeys continues to increase.
