He said that he met Liang Hong, the third-generation director of "Liang Tim Knife Factory" during a dinner. During the conversation, he learned that the signboard of the shop would be demolished. He immediately expressed his willingness to accept it: "Liang Sheng is so generous. I didn’t ask me anything, I just told him my thoughts, saying that I want to preserve a signboard and make it a part of my artistic creation.” Boss Liang immediately agreed to his request, “Da Dao ” sign was able to escape the fate of being sent to the landfill.

Rex said that he believes that real art should not just be kept at home, but should be displayed to the public for appreciation, because it belongs to the collective memory of Hong Kong people: "The signboard does not belong to me, it belongs to the residents of Sham Shui Po District." Rex attended Pui Ching Secondary School when he was in middle school. He believes that his alma mater is like a microcosm of Hong Kong society.
He said that Pui Ching Secondary School has a total history of 133 years. The facilities on the campus are a blend of old and new, but they have not been fully integrated.
