At least 16 injured, one person trapped and one deceased after a train crash at the Potrero subway station in Mexico City, reported the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum.
According to Sheinbaum, who was traveling to the crash site, 16 people were taken to hospitals, while three of the four trapped people were rescued.
In addition, the official reported an "unfortunate" death.
The events occurred after a collision between trains on Line 3 of the Metro.
Sheinbaum reported earlier through his twitter account that the secretaries of Government, Citizen Security, Comprehensive Risk Management, and the Metro Director arrived at the scene.
The Mexico City metro suspended service from Indios Verdes to Guerrera on Line 3 due to the incident.
