Carnage on the roads:
A 48-year-old woman was killed today (Sunday) in a car accident between a truck and a private car on Route 70 at the Ahihud junction.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene performed CPR on her, at the end of which they had to pronounce her dead. The initial investigation suggests a hit-and-run accident.
Large police forces launched extensive searches accompanied by a police helicopter alongside roadblocks deployed in order to locate the suspect truck driver.
MDA medic Noam Levy said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the woman trapped inside the vehicle.
After we rescued her, we performed medical tests and after resuscitation operations, unfortunately we had to determine her death."
