2023 will be a varied event year in Wolfratshausen.

Cultural manager: "We have prepared a very diverse program."

Wolfratshausen - Boredom will not arise in 2023 in the rafters' town, which is often ridiculed as tranquil.

In addition to nationally known visitor magnets such as the river festival and the St. John's raft procession, there will be many other event highlights in the coming months, cultural manager Andreas Kutter promised in a press conference on Thursday.

"We have prepared a very diverse program."

Wolfratshausen: Many events in the cultural program for 2023

As in previous years, the city of Wolfratshausen relies on the cooperation with the music school, the concert association Isartal, the Loisachtal farmer's stage and the youth music workshop.

The most important venue remains the Loisachhalle, which is available for at least 25 events.

"Most of the time, we significantly exceed this number," reported Kutter.

The adventure festival “Wild!” starting on January 20th is likely to be the first spectacle of the year.

Image-intensive lectures, a photo workshop and a concert evening with the well-known band Smokestack Lightnin' should fill the Loisachhalle.

Little fools will get their money's worth on February 18th at the same place at the children's carnival (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and the day after at "Wolfratshausen narrisch" on Marktstraße.

Other fixed points in the calendar of events are the strong beer festival with the derblecken of the Loisachtal farmer's stage and the performance of the Oktoberfest band "Münchner Zwietracht" on March 10th, as well as the Iloga fair in April.

Open-air events are to be held in Wolfratshausen in June

In addition, Kutter is planning several small open-air events at various locations in the city in June.

"The talks with clubs are already underway," announced the culture manager.

A new edition of the innkeepers' festival and the implementation of children's culture days in various schools also appear very likely.

Andreas Kutter is particularly concerned about the “Ice Age”, which the city had to cancel in 2022 due to strict energy saving requirements.

The 38-year-old cannot yet foresee whether the situation will change in the coming winter.

The will to enable ice skating fun on the Loisachufer is great.

Unlike in previous years, in 2023 there will be no discounted optional subscription for the events in the “KulturPur” series (see program box).

"People's advance booking behavior has changed significantly," explained Kutter.

Tickets for individual events are available from the Tourist Info at Untermarkt 10, from the Citizens’ Advice Bureau on 08171/2140 or via the Munich Ticket.

"Pure Culture": From jazz to classical

A jazz concert by Matthias Bublath opens the cultural year on February 3rd in the hall of the music school.

This is followed by the string concert of the Leonkoro Quartet in the Loisachhalle (February 4th), a performance by the Valentin Preißler Quartet in the music school (February 17th) and a Mendelssohn-Strauss-Ravel classical music evening by the Neue Philharmonie München in the Loisachhalle (March 3rd ).

There, on March 25, the Philharmonic Orchestra Isartal will present Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 under the direction of Henry Bonamy.

Other classical highlights include the Debussy-Elgar performance of the Sinfonietta Isartal (April 14), the piano recital with Eldar Nebolsin (May 13), "The Apotheosis of Dance" by the Neue Philharmonie Isartal (June 23), a performance by the Ensembles "Free but Lonely" (November 18) and a saxophone concert by Koryun Asatryan (November 9).

The Chiemgauer Volkstheater promise carefree fun with "Age does not protect against health" (March 26th) and the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne, which will present its autumn play on November 25th.

The inner courtyard of the town hall is also used.

There, the Geretsried singer-songwriter Willi Sommerwerk invites you to his political-musical program “Schön war die Zeit” on June 24th.

As part of the river festival, there will be a symphonic adaptation of the film "In the fight with the mountains" on July 15th and 16th in the Loisachhalle and on the neighboring Loisachufer.

Songs from the “Golden Twenties” (October 7th), a poetry slam (October 14th), the travesty show by Chris Kolonko (November 10th) and the Tyrolean jazz big band Grapha (November 11th) complete the programme.
