The "last generation" is often attacked for its road blockades, mostly verbally.

Apparently this wasn't enough for a man in Cologne, he took action.

Cologne - On Friday (January 6), climate activists of the "last generation" blocked a busy street in Cologne around noon.

The start of the campaign can be seen

on a video from the Cologne Internet

newspaper report-K.de .

Men and women enter the street, unfurl banners and sit down.

Passer-by attacks climate activists in Cologne: man's hat is torn off his head

But suddenly a man appears who doesn't seem to like the action.

First he grabs a backpack and carries it out of the picture.

However, the attacked climate activist keeps calm and just keeps going.

Shortly thereafter, the apparently angry man reappears in the picture.

He snatches the banner and hat from the hands of the same activist, who again indifferently endures the aggression, and throws both of them to the side of the road.

Then the man snatched the backpack of a climate activist.

She holds him down for a moment, but the one who was attacked first only says "Let go".

This backpack also ends up on the side of the road.

That doesn't seem to be enough for passers-by.

He takes on other activists, pulls one to the ground by her hoodie, and wants to tear the hat and safety vest off another, but without success.

All in all, the aggression of the passer-by lasts less than 60 seconds.

The climate activists, however, endure this with little or no resistance.

They simply continue with their action without being impressed.

Reactions to the attack on the climate activists in Cologne: Most Twitter users condemn the aggression

The man's aggression is widely condemned on Twitter.

"Hope the abusive dwarf takes a ad," writes a user under the video.

"Hopefully this man can be convicted and reported with the help of the video - that's really criminal ... the protesters are very peaceful," commented another.

"Even if @AufstandLastGen's form of protest is controversial.

I have the deepest respect that they put up with it without becoming physically violent."
