The Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Daraa, has launched a campaign to distribute five free forest seedlings to each family, under the slogan “Loving Giving Grows.”
The head of the Forestry Department, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the distribution takes place according to the family card, with the aim of restoring the vegetation cover that has been tampered with and logging over the past years, and given the great environmental and economic importance of afforestation.
Eng. Al-Abdullah indicated that the department placed forest seedlings in the agricultural institutions and departments of Al-Sanamayn, Nawa, Izraa and Al-Qeen, in addition to the forest nursery of Izraa, to distribute them to the citizens, indicating that the department provides a sufficient number of forestry seedlings, of cypress, palm, oleander, oleander, legstrom, acacia, false pepper and others.
The campaign to distribute forest seedlings free of charge to every family in Daraa comes as part of the family afforestation campaigns launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform last year by granting each family in rural areas in all governorates 5 free forest seedlings.
