The break into the Capitol, the South American version: Thousands of supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro broke into the Congress building in the capital Brasilia after a protest over the change of government in the country got out of control.
The police retreated from around the building after thousands clashed with the police and several police were injured during the clashes.
The rioters also stormed the presidential palace, but the president-elect, Lula Silva, is currently visiting the eastern city of Sao Paulo.
