A gang of shoplifters was caught by the police in Bad Tölz on Saturday afternoon.
One of the suspects also presented the officers with a false ID.
Bad Tölz – The incident happened around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday afternoon.
The shop detective at a consumer market on Lenggrieser Strasse in Bad Tölz became aware of a 32-year-old and an 18-year-old Moldovan national residing abroad.
The two women had stolen two bottles of perfume and tried to "smuggle" them past the checkout.
Later, empty packaging for fitness tracker watches, so-called smartwatches, from the market were found with them.
Four male accomplices manage to escape - but only briefly
As it turned out, the two women were not alone.
Four male accomplices, between the ages of 19 and 47, also Moldovan nationals, were initially able to flee, but were apprehended a short time later by two patrols from the Bad Tölz police station at a worker's shelter in Lenggries.

One of the suspects presents a fake ID
When ascertaining the identity and examining the identity documents presented by specially trained officers from the Murnau Border Police Inspectorate, the police officers also noticed that one of the men, a 47-year-old Moldovan national, had presented a forged Romanian identity card.

Eventually, charges of theft and forgery of documents and a violation of the Residence Act were filed.
