A young man fell and died in the Wetterstein mountains.
Grainau - A serious mountain accident occurred in the Wetterstein mountains on Saturday, January 7th.
A 26-year-old died in a mountaineering accident on the Jubilee Ridge.
The man fell about 350 meters in steep and rocky terrain, the police said.
26-year-old crashed in the Wetterstein mountains - probably stepped on a snowdrift
The young man was on Saturday afternoon with his companion of the same age on the way from the Zugspitz summit in the direction of the Alpspitze in wintry conditions when he suddenly crashed into the Höllental on the north side.
He was said to have stepped on a snowdrift, which gave way under his weight.

An ambulance was brought to the scene of the accident by rescue helicopter.
