Kowloon Bay woman suspected of being hit by a taxi while crossing the road, then run over by a taxi and died

At 0:43 a.m. today (8th), a fatal car accident occurred on Kai Fuk Road in Kowloon Bay near Wang Kwong Building towards Kwun Tong.

A woman was knocked down by a vehicle while crossing the road. It was suspected that the vehicle involved ignored the incident. The woman lay unconscious on the road. A passing taxi knocked her down again. She was reported to the police. The 52-year-old female injured was later rescued by The ambulance was sent to the hospital for rescue, but it was confirmed that he died. The taxi driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death. He is currently being detained for investigation.

The police received a report from a 72-year-old taxi driver that he accidentally ran over a woman who was lying on the road when his taxi was driving near the footbridge of Kai Fuk Road. However, the woman was unconscious at the time. The victim had been run over by the vehicle involved in the accident earlier and ignored it.

The female passerby suffered multiple injuries and was sent to the United Hospital in a coma for treatment, where she was certified dead at 1:13 a.m.

At the time of the incident, a male passenger was on board the taxi involved, and the passenger also assisted in calling the police.

There is a pedestrian bridge near the scene of the incident. The police do not rule out that the female victim fell from the bridge and was run over by a passing vehicle.

The taxi driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently being detained for investigation.
