Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has called the events in Brasilia "barbaric" and called pro-Bolsonaro protesters who stormed government buildings "fascist."
"These people are all that is abominable in politics, invading the seat of government, the seat of Congress and the seat of the Supreme Court like true vandals destroying everything in their path," said Lula da Silva.

Lula also said that there was a "lack of security" and stated that "all the people who did this will be found and punished."
Lula gave a press conference in Araraquara, Sao Paulo, where he had been inspecting areas damaged by heavy flooding.

Where is Bolsonaro?
After losing in the second round of the presidential elections in October, Jair Bolsonaro ended his presidency on January 1, the day Lula da Silva took office.
