Twelve people were killed and others injured as a result of a traffic accident on the highway in Sokoto state, northwest Nigeria.
Xinhua news agency quoted Yusuf Nadabo, commander of the Sokoto Safety Corps sector, as telling reporters today that the truck driver lost control of the bus carrying 17 passengers due to excessive speed, which led to its collapse, killing 12 passengers and seriously injuring five others.
Nadabo added: All the injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital by the Regional Security Council personnel in the area.
