From 2026, the Berlin Philharmonic will switch back to the Easter Festival in Salzburg - the Easter Festival in Baden-Baden will therefore be artistically realigned from this point in time.
This was announced by Baden-Baden's Festspielhaus director Benedikt Stampa and the director of the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation, Andrea Zietzschmann, on Monday.
Baden-Baden - "Artists have to change, but they should also know where they are always welcome," said Stampa.
"Baden-Baden is and will remain such a place for the Berlin Philharmonic." Zietzschmann emphasized that the Philharmonic wanted to maintain the connection to Baden-Baden and the festival audience there even after 2025 through joint concert projects.
The Salzburg Festival will have a permanent resident orchestra again from 2026, said the artistic director of the Easter Festival, Nikolaus Bachler.
He is very pleased that it has been possible to bind the founding orchestra back to this festival.
