The St. Wolfgang fire brigade had to move to the Isentalautobahn A 94 on Monday afternoon for an accident that was as serious as it was spectacular.

St. Wolfgang/Heldenstein - According to initial investigations by the Mühldorf motorway police, two vehicles were involved that were heading towards Passau.

For reasons that are still unclear, the driver of a VW Arteon from the Mindelheim district drove into the rear of a car driving in front from the Mühldorf district around 2 p.m. near the Heldenstein junction.

The force of the impact - the police assume that the VW was there very quickly - was so great that the Mühldorfer was thrown over the crash barrier of the motorway and came to a standstill almost vertically at a sign.

One of the occupants suffered serious injuries.

Both victims were taken to nearby hospitals by paramedics.

In addition to the St. Wolfgang fire brigade, there was also that from Obertaufkirchen, the district fire inspection Mühldorf and the BRK Mühldorf with ambulance, emergency doctor and rescue service leader at the accident site.

During the rescue and the accident recording, there were significant traffic obstructions in the direction of Passau.

However, a complete lockdown was not necessary.

The material damage to both vehicles and the highway is in the five-digit range.

The perpetrator is being investigated for assault.
