Have the fire protection requirements for the underground hall become stricter, which in turn affects visitor capacity?

Former mayor Manuela Vanni asked this question at the most recent market council meeting.

Peißenberg – For the first time this year, the Barbara celebration of the Knappenverein did not have to take place in Peißenberg, but in Oberhausen, stated Manuela Vanni (Peißenberger Liste) in the market council.

According to "rumours", the "Zur Post" inn, where the celebration was held every year, was only allowed to let a maximum of 100 visitors into the large hall due to fire protection requirements.

Underground hall: Stricter handling of seating plans in the future

According to Vanni, there is also speculation about the underground hall that there would be new seating plans.

"Which state or federal law has changed?" Vanni wanted to know.

If the fire protection requirements have actually been tightened, then she cannot understand that.

"There are more than four exits in the underground hall," says Vanni.

New regulations would unnecessarily "restrict" the clubs at events: "Can't we as a community take action against this?"

Mayor Frank Zellner (CSU) explained at the meeting that the topic would be dealt with in January in the main committee and in the plenary session.

The local newspaper has already asked the town hall administration.

The conclusion: Nothing has changed in the seating plans in the underground hall, they will only be handled more strictly in the future.

There are a total of 20 different seating plans for the cultural center - for the hall, the foyer and the gallery.

Without rows of seats, the capacity of the underground hall is a maximum of 800 people and with full seating without tables 481. The capacity is reduced depending on whether a central aisle is left free in the hall or whether longitudinal or round tables are set up.

But how did the "wildest rumours" come about, as building manager Claudia Gorn describes the speculation about the allegedly tightened fire protection requirements?

Tiefstollenhalle: Fewer tables at the Black and White Ball

A few months ago, the district office undertook a regular inspection of the underground hall as part of the Ordinance on Places of Assembly.

It was found that the existing seating plans were not approved.

From the available files, Gorn can no longer find out why the documents were not officially signed when they were created: "That was before my time," she explains.

However, approval has now been granted.

The width of the escape doors, which was too small by today's standards, was subsequently approved by the district office.

For clubs and other organizers in the underground hall, this now means that the seating plans are absolutely binding.

Deviations are no longer tolerated.

In this regard, Gorn refers to operator responsibility and liability issues: "As long as nothing happens,

it's all good.

But what about in an emergency?”

The harder line with regard to the seating plans, for example, has an impact on “Frohsinn 2000”.

The carnival association invites you to its black and white ball on January 14th.

The event is a regular social highlight in Peißenberg and an absolute magnet for visitors.

But instead of the usual 20 round tables, Frohsinn is only allowed to set up 16 in the hall this year.

The number is shown in the seating plan as a maximum limit.

"That's around 50 fewer visitors," confirms Thomas Rößle when asked.

The head of the Frohsinn club is dealing with the situation pragmatically: “We will still have around 200 visitors again.
