In Eching, a week after New Year's Eve, firecrackers were again fired into the dark sky: this time at the Dreikönigsschiessen of the firecracker community.
Eching
- For the second time after 2020 and an interim Corona interruption, the Böllerschützen, an association of members of the shooting clubs from Eching and Dietersheim, invited to this spectacle together with the carol singers of the parish of St. Andreas.
When he welcomed the numerous visitors, commander Peter Maurus briefly explained the traditional custom, according to which ghosts and demons are to be driven away after the twelve rough nights with the Shooting of the Three Kings.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
The 22 shooters, equipped with hearing protection, then let it rip together in the Echinger leisure area under his pithy announcements.
Maurus also ensured an orderly sequence of shots by waving and lowering a white-blue flag with visual hand signals, in addition to the loud resounding question: "Böllerschützen, are you ready?"
Seven shooting sequences with salute, slow and fast line fire and double strike
Many people from Echingen did not want to miss the optical-acoustic spectacle in the early evening.
The Monte Eho in the Dr-Enßlin-Park, Eching's largest elevation, was atmospherically illuminated for the demonstration of the firecrackers.
In addition to the lighting effect, the mundane fact that the lined-up shooters could find their way around in complete darkness also played a role.
The impressive choreography of the seven shooting sequences with a salute, slow and fast line fire and a double hit worked perfectly - and the spectators honored the performance, which could be heard from afar, with strong applause.
Mistress and dog caused a brief interruption
A dog owner, who was obviously unaware of the event and was walking her frightened four-legged friends on Monte Eho of all places, caused a brief interruption.
Mum and her Zamperl all had to be calmed down first before it continued with a loud crash.
The drinks served and a small refreshment with sausages were gladly awarded.
One or two additional donations also found their way into the coffers of the Echinger carol singers.
