The use of disposable products, such as plastic cutlery, plates and trays, has been banned in England in order to reduce pollution, the British government has confirmed.
According to the data, 1.1 billion disposable plates and 4.25 billion cutlery are used each year in England , and only 10% of all of these are recycled after use.
Plastic products related to food and drink deliveries, including plastic containers and plastic cutlery, make up the majority of waste in the world's oceans, according to research.
The British Environment Minister, Theresa Coffey, is expected to ban a series of plastic products, after consultation on the issue of the Ministry of the Environment, Food and Regional Affairs The village (Defra) which lasted from November 2021 to February 2022.
"A plastic fork breaks down over the course of two centuries, that's two centuries of waste in our oceans or pollution of our oceans," said Coffey.
"I am determined to promote action to deal with this issue. We have already taken significant steps in recent years - but now we know that more needs to be done, and we are again listening to the calls of the public. The new ban will have a huge impact in reducing the pollution of billions of plastic particles and will help protect the natural environment for future generations ".

Similar bans are already in place in Scotland and Wales.
The UK government has banned the use of straws, probes and disposable cotton swabs in England in 2020.
According to the "Daily Mail", the ban will apply to plastic plates, bowls and trays, which are used for food and drinks in restaurants, cafes and deliveries, but not in supermarket chains or stores.
From a document published in November 2021, it was explained that the products in supermarket chains and stores are part of a different government action plan.
