Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was admitted to a hospital Monday, his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, said in a post on her official Instagram.
He was admitted for abdominal "discomfort" related to injuries from a knife attack in 2018 during a political rally.
Bolsonaro has been hospitalized several times over the years due to the effects of his knife wound.
An ally of the former president told CNN Brazil that he had been feeling discomfort Sunday night and that Bolsonaro is hospitalized in the Orlando, Florida area, where he has been for several weeks.
