Gallant decided: Steinitz will be appointed chairman of Rafael | Israel Hayom

Dr. Steinitz will replace outgoing chairman Uzi Landau, who is finishing a six-year term in office • The appointment will come into effect after the approval of the appointment review committee at the Government Companies Authority.


Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced today (Monday) his decision to appoint Dr. Yuval Steinitz as chairman of "Raphael".

Dr. Steinitz will replace outgoing chairman Uzi Landau, who is finishing a six-year term in office.

The appointment will come into effect after the approval of the appointment review committee at the Government Companies Authority.

Dr. Yuval Steinitz (64), served as a member of the Knesset and a minister in the governments of Israel for 23 years, and held a number of senior positions, including: Minister of Finance, Minister of Intelligence and Strategy and Minister of Energy.

Steinitz served as a member of the political and security cabinet for 12 years and for eight years was the minister responsible for the Atomic Energy Committee.

In the Knesset, he served, among other things, as chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, as chairman of the Intelligence Subcommittee and as chairman of the Subcommittee on Security Concept and IDF Power Building.

Defense Minister Galant thanked outgoing Chairman Uzi Landau for his work for the promotion and development of advanced combat systems and his contribution to the security of the State of Israel.
