The police in the Upper Palatinate are currently dealing with a serious accident.
A 24-year-old lost his life in a head-on collision – he was not wearing a seat belt.
Amberg-Sulzbach – Any help came too late for him: A 24-year-old man died on Monday (January 9) in a head-on collision near Sulzbach-Rosenberg (Amberg-Sulzbach district).
The driver of a van initially left the lane to the right with his vehicle and then got into the opposite lane when steering in the opposite direction, the police said.
There he collided with the car of a 57-year-old.

The van driver, who was driving without a seat belt, was thrown out of the vehicle.
Rescue workers and an ambulance tried in vain to revive the man, but without success.
The man died at the scene of the accident.
Both cars were totaled, which the police put at a total of 40,000 euros.

The driver of the oncoming car was trapped.
The fire brigade had to free the 57-year-old woman with heavy technical equipment before the emergency services could take her to a hospital for further treatment.
She suffered moderate injuries.

Fatal accident in Bavaria: Experts should clarify the cause
By order of the public prosecutor's office in Amberg, an expert came to the scene of the accident to analyze the exact circumstances of the accident.
The expert must now also clarify whether the oil film on the road and/or other external circumstances were decisive for the accident.
