Hit and run in Penzberg: The license plate helps the police

Accident in Penzberg: The police asks a driver to report as a witness.

Penzberg – first grazed the car, then drove on: But thanks to the license plate, the police identified an accident driver in Penzberg.
On Thursday (January 5), an 18-year-old from Kochler drove his car at around 3:10 p.m. on the “Im Wiesfeld” road in Penzberg in the direction of Nonnenwaldstraße.
According to the police, shortly after the junction with Hochfeldstraße, he had to stop behind a parked vehicle because of oncoming traffic.
The driver of a following white Hyundai stopped behind the 18-year-old.
The oncoming traffic also stopped behind a parked vehicle and gave a hand signal to understand that the Kocheler should drive first.
The Kochler then drove off the road again.
At that moment, according to the police, a 76-year-old woman from Penzberg drove her car past Kochler, coming from behind.
The two cars collided.
The woman continued her journey without stopping at the scene of the accident.
However, the 76-year-old could be identified using the license plate.
The accident resulted in total damage of around 5,000 euros.
The police are asking the driver of the white Hyundai to contact the Penzberg inspection as a witness (telephone 08856/92570).
