“Appropriate monitoring would perhaps have prevented the reappearance of this phenomenon

”, writes the deputy Éric Ciotti to his best enemy Christian Estrosi.

"If you had done the job, we wouldn't be here."

The tone is intended to be serious, even offensive with regard to the mayor of Nice.

In fact, Éric Ciotti, in a letter sent Monday to the city council as well as a second to the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, denounces the installation of a Roma camp on the banks along the A8 motorway, at two steps from the prefecture, in Nice, and calls for its immediate dismantling.

Every evening fires are lit that can cause fires and the sanitary conditions caused by these illegal occupations are absolutely unacceptable

", protests the new president of the Republicans.

"

We cannot conceive of you allowing improvised bivouacs to be erected, without reacting, which serve as a rear base for begging activity, as it has been able to develop in recent months on the main urban axes of Nice."

“A few months later, a new camp was born, only a few meters from the previous one,”

he regrets.

According to the words of the deputy, the people of Nice residing nearby would feel “

distraught in the face of the increasingly frequent incivilities linked to the presence of these wandering populations.

misery

” and exploit “

vulnerable people to beg in appalling hygienic and health conditions.”
