After Amsalem's statements - Netanyahu on the way to folding?
The prime minister's circle is considering offering David Amsalem to become a minister in the Ministry of Justice alongside Levin, and a liaison minister between the government and the Knesset.
In recent weeks, the relationship between Amsalem and Prime Minister Netanyahu has deteriorated against the background of the division of cases and the formation of the government. Although Amsalem came in fourth place in the Likud primaries, Netanyahu did not find it appropriate to give him the positions he was interested in - the position of Speaker of the Knesset or the Ministry of Justice.
After a period of silence, last Friday Amsalem sent a harsh message to Prime Minister Netanyahu, when he told his supporters at the door of his house: "No one will humiliate me."
"The one who decided not to give me the position of Speaker of the Knesset is the Prime Minister.
I asked him, explain to me why I can't be in the position?
He told me stories about Ali-Baba, who is afraid that I will settle accounts with the opposition," Amsalam continued to pour out his heart as dozens of Likud activists gathered around him.
"There was humiliation aimed at me here, the same crowd that elected you - elected me" said the Knesset member and claimed sectarian bias.
"I'm not asking for anything that I don't deserve according to the arrangement. You gave Rival Levin trials, you gave Galant security, Eli Cohen the foreigner and where is David Amsalam?! Are you skipping over me? We Spaniards will not be humiliated, by anyone, ever. The members of the Mizrah No one will humiliate, not even a prime minister from Likud."
