On Twitter, Karl Lauterbach (SPD) demands that firecrackers should be given notice of their apartment.

But shortly thereafter, the Minister of Health deleted his tweet again.

Berlin – On New Year's Eve, numerous emergency services were injured in Germany, including rescue workers.

They were previously thrown at with firecrackers.

A condition that drives Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) to incandescence.

The social democrat spoke up on Twitter on New Year's morning and spoke of a shame that "a small group of chaotic people is currently attacking the rescue workers".

If Lauterbach has its way, this must result in the termination of the apartment.

Karl Lauterbach (SPD) in a rage because of firecracker chaos: Minister of Health wants to terminate their apartment

Karl Lauterbach knew how to thank all those who would have helped the injured and sick in the night from December 31, 2022 to January 1, 2023.

This meant the people who had suffered injuries from firecrackers or firecrackers.

But also the staff in clinics and hospitals, who are already working at the limit and are confronted with the combination of corona, influenza and RSV (RS virus).

On New Year's Eve, there was plenty of rioting and firecracker escalation, especially in Berlin.

Understandably, Lauterbach finds far fewer words for the firecrackers all over Germany, who ruthlessly endangered rescue workers.

That "should be a reason to terminate the apartment," said the Minister of Health via Twitter.

Words that Lauterbach apparently quickly regretted.

Finally, he deleted his first tweet of the year shortly after it was published.

New Year's Eve in Berlin ends with 33 injured emergency services - "Behaviour can not be justified by anything"

But Lauterbach is not the only one concerned with the question of what consequences can be drawn from the firecrackers that have escalated in many places.

A big discussion has long been sparked.

In Berlin, the police had to report a particularly large number of massive attacks on emergency and rescue workers on New Year's Eve.

A total of 33 injured emergency services were counted in the capital.

The Berlin fire brigade was surprised "by the mass and intensity of the attacks on our emergency services".

Among other things, beer crates and fire extinguishers were thrown at vehicles, rescuers were shot at with pyrotechnics while extinguishing and emergency vehicles were looted.

"This behavior cannot be justified by anything, and I can only condemn it in the strongest possible terms," said Karsten Homrighausen, state fire director.

Union demands extensive ban on firecrackers – because “pyrotechnics are used specifically as a weapon against people”

The Berlin police union (GdP) wants to take tough action and is demanding a far-reaching ban on firecrackers.

"We have seen across Germany that pyrotechnics are being used specifically as a weapon against people," criticized GdP country head Stephan Weh.

And that must come to an end as soon as possible.

But a firecracker ban is only realistic if it is not discussed again until December.

Rather, what is needed is a strict sales ban for everyone who does not work professionally with pyrotechnics.

Karl Lauterbach would probably have nothing against that either.
