The municipality of Sindelsdorf has “a lot to do” in 2023, says Mayor Andreas Obermaier.

This means several large construction projects and various renovation measures.

Sindelsdorf –

If you ask the Mayor of Sindelsdorf, Andreas Obermaier, what is going on in his community in 2023, he only needs one word to describe it: “a lot”.

In all probability, his municipality will implement two large construction projects at the same time: the construction of a new municipal building yard at Schützenheim and the construction of a new building on Penzberger Straße, in which three apartments and a village shop are planned.

If possible, the tender for the building yard should begin in January.

"Hopefully" in the course of the spring, the groundbreaking ceremony for the project should take place, for which, according to Obermaier, there is currently a cost estimate of around one million euros.

The desire for a building yard has occupied the community for years.

Will the club room even be built on the building yard?

A large room is also planned in the building, which is to be made available to the local associations.

However, this room will not be finished - as originally planned - but will remain "a shell for the time being", says Obermaier.

The reason for this: It could be that the club rooms that are so urgently needed could be realized as part of another project in the center of town.

The mayor said he could not say more about this at the moment.

Just so much: If that works, the central rooms would of course be better suited for the clubs.

The space in the new building yard would then be obsolete.

Parallel to the construction of the new building yard, the community wants to demolish the former slaughterhouse on the through road and build a new building with apartments and a village shop.

The demolition is planned for spring or summer, says Obermaier.

"The new building will then follow." Since there are still no plans, there is no cost estimate for this project.

However, the mayor expects total costs of around two and a half million euros.

Village store plans are being vigorously pursued

The future of the planned commercial area called "Hochleiten I" could also be decided in 2023.

It is already clear that no supermarkets are allowed to settle on the site, according to Obermaier.

The government of Upper Bavaria has meanwhile rejected corresponding plans by the investor CDP.

The settlement of other trades is also not possible due to the applicable connection requirement.

However, the investor is still trying to build an innovative filling station – for hydrogen, for example – along the B 472.

Talks are currently underway with the government.

But no more can be built on the site.

According to Obermaier, the only option would be a solar park.

The end of the supermarkets is a major reason for the community, which is why they are now pursuing their village shop plans again.

Obermaier hopes that this local supplier will be ready by 2023.

It is not yet clear whether a cooperative will be set up to run it or whether a trader will take over the business.

The community also wants to take care of the future of the "Malerhaus".

In addition to these large projects, the municipality also wants to take care of the "Malerhaus".

The municipality bought the listed property on the main street, where the painter Heinrich-Campendonk lived for a while, in 2022.

A concept for the "Malerhaus" is to be developed in 2023.

It would be conceivable, says Obermaier, for the kindergarten and crèche to move there.

Because the existing rooms in the community had become too small.

But it is also possible that the municipality will move its headquarters to the "Malerhaus".

Until the concept is in place, the property is to be poorly renovated in 2023 in order to protect it from final decay;

for example in the area of the roof or the windows.

After ten years there will finally be another carnival procession in Sindelsdorf on Shrove Tuesday.

The carnival hustle and bustle, which actually always takes place in front of the Gasthaus Zur Post, could be somewhat hindered this year.

Because as early as January, the owner of the "Post" wants to start building a new extension for additional hotel rooms.

It's not a community project, says Obermaier, "but it will be a big construction site for Sindelsdorf." He only hopes that the public restaurant will remain and that the owners will not just focus on hotel operations.

What is still pending in 2023 is the relocation of the EVA GmbH recycling center from Penzberg to the “Lange Wand” commercial area in Sindelsdorf.

And the fiber optic expansion by Telekom could also be carried out this year, but maybe not until 2024.
