The weather and the current situation caused delays, it was said in the municipal council meeting.

That was "not easy" for the Storchennest daycare centers from Markt Schwaben as a carrier, says Nicole Schley (SPD) in an interview with our newspaper.

However, the mayor is confident that she will be able to manage the transition phase well: "We will find a solution for the sponsor to bridge the two months."

Storchennest Kitas gGmbH already operates three childcare facilities in Markt Schwaben.

According to the draft resolution, the requested extension of the deadline for the completion of the Ottenhofen children's home has been approved by the government of Upper Bavaria, so that it would not be detrimental to funding if the building was completed later.

The government set the date of March 31, 2024.

The new building must be completed by then.

The City Council meeting was informed of the status of the construction site.

In the meantime, a large part of the window elements has been set and the steel construction for the balcony system on the upper floor has been assembled.

For the ventilation system, the base for the ventilation unit was attached to the roof and sealed together with the skylights.

Due to persistently bad weather in the past few weeks of the year that ended, it was not possible for the roofer to start further sealing work.

That's why you couldn't start with the carpentry work for the canopy, the balcony roof and the wooden facade.

For the interior fit-out, the construction of the drywall and the basic installation work by the fit-out trades will begin.

The municipal council also gave the go-ahead for the insulation of the technical systems.

The most economical offer for this work was just under 26,500 euros and thus below the cost calculation of 28,000 euros.

In addition, the council awarded the MSR system (measuring, controlling, regulating) to the company for an offer sum of a good 48,400 euros.

This offer is also below the cost calculation, which was 58,000 euros.

These are gross totals.

Everything has already been tendered or commissioned for the heating, ventilation and sanitary trades.

The current cost estimate is a good 674,000 euros and exceeds the cost calculation of 538,000 euros that was made last June.

In order to properly celebrate the progress of the construction work, the municipal council spoke out in favor of a topping-out ceremony at its meeting.

It is scheduled to take place in February.

As reported, the new children's home on Meillerweg, right next to the elementary school and opposite the Catholic children's home Sancta Katharina, is to offer care options for crèche and kindergarten children on two floors, i.e. care for children from one year until they start school.

According to the website of the Storchennest Kitas, the new children's home should be open from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on requirements.
