Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that supplying Western weapons to Ukraine will not be able to change anything, because it will not hinder the achievement of the objectives of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass.
Sputnik quoted Peskov as saying today, commenting on France's decision to provide Ukraine with military equipment: "It is not logical to talk only about the French decision. We know that collective Europe, NATO and the United States have already pumped tens of billions of dollars into Ukraine through arms supplies," stressing. However, these deliveries “can increase the pain of the Ukrainian people, prolong their suffering, but they cannot solve anything in principle, as they are not able to disrupt the achievement of the goals of the special military operation.”
And the office of French President Emmanuel Macron announced last Wednesday that his country would deliver light combat tanks to Ukraine, making it the first country to send such Western-designed armored fighting vehicles to Kyiv.
On the other hand, Peskov denied allegations of launching a new wave of partial mobilization of the Russian army.
In response to allegations of new partial mobilization, Peskov called for not exaggerating the importance of such news, stressing that "the Russian authorities remain the main source of information."
On the situation in Brazil, Peskov strongly condemned the riots and violence carried out by supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro, and their attempt to seize official headquarters.
Peskov confirmed Russia's full support for President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
